Colorado
Pursuant to House Bill 06-1347 effective August 1, 2006, a surcharge of $3.00 was added to each current fee for electronic or paper UCC filing to fund the Identity Theft and Financial Fraud Deterrence Act.

Minnesota
House Bill 3076 effective August 1, 2006 made technical changes to definitions and provisions of the business corporation and LLC statutes.

North Carolina
Senate Bill 1479 (Session Law 2006-226) enacted the Uniform Unincorporated Nonprofit Association Act effective January 1, 2007.

Motor Vehicle Updates

California
The CA DMV requires a California driver's license number when a vehicle is leased to an individual

New Jersey
Effective immediately, New Jersey has imposed a 0.4% surcharge on the sale of new passenger vehicles, light trucks, SUVs, and vans if:
1. The gross sales or lease price(CAP Cost) of the new vehicle is $45,000 or greater before trade-in, manufacturers rebates, or additional Handicapped Driver Adaptive Equipment.
AND/OR
2. The new vehicle has an average EPA mile/gallon (city and highway) rating of less than 19.

New Mexico
Diesel vehicles are now exempt from emmisions inspections.
